Interior Remodel of a 1992 Dan Solomon Townhouse – Hayes Valley
This 1,500-square-foot interior renovation updates a 1992 Dan Solomon-designed townhouse in Hayes Valley to better support the needs of a modern family. While preserving the original exterior, the project transforms the home into a fully electric, energy-efficient residence. Upgrades include new glazing, an insulated ground-floor slab and exterior walls, radiant floor heating, a heat pump water heater, and induction kitchen appliances.
The three-story interior was fully reconfigured and finished with durable, high-end materials. The new layout introduces a powder room, a dedicated office, a custom TV nook that doubles as a guest space, and significantly expanded storage. Thoughtful planning maximizes the use of existing openings to improve natural light and airflow, making even the ground floor brighter, more welcoming, and highly functional.
